Further comments should be made in the Senate Hall or new Consensus Track pages rather than here so that this page is preserved as a historic record. The result of the debate was Add "fate is unknown" info to in-universe articles if stated by official material. CC7567 (talk) 05:11, October 17, 2011 (UTC)
Earlier today on the Senate Hall discussion board, I started this forum discussing cases when a character's fate is officially mentioned to be unknown by a canon source. An example would be Cane Adiss, whose Databank entry mentioned that is was unknown if he survived the Skirmish at Carkoon. I know that unsourced "fate is unknown" stuff is not acceptable to the rules of manual of style, but what about cases when that is indeed the case in-universe, and not just some Wookieepedian trying to give closure to a character's story when there is none? An example of the latter would be Sheckil's fate being unknown after he was captured on Cloud City, something I remember removing during my days as an anon. I would say that any of that "unknown" info from published in-universe sources should be added, per WP:CANON, not omitted for going against the rules of manual of style. Every bit of information relevant to an article is meant to be included on this site, and, if the overall consensus is in support of my proposal, then certain articles, especially quality ones like Cane Adiss, would require some updates.
